Flooding in the Maggia Valley in June 2025

The Rotary Foundation Switzerland was able to financially support several projects in the Maggia Valley TI, Misox GR and Valais after the devastating floods with landslides at the end of June/beginning of July 2024. We made a contribution to the new water catchment of the spring in the Bavona Valley and the connecting pipeline to the village of Cevio. The rock in the picture fell down on June 29, 2024, the size of an apartment building!

The foundations of this beautiful old bridge in Cevio were undermined by the floods and therefore need to be reinforced. The work is being fully financed with contributions from the Rotary Foundation Switzerland and several Rotary clubs in Ticino.
