Major donation success - next steps
Since the last call for donations at the beginning of August, TCHF 113 in donations have already been received (TCHF 60 from D1980; TCHF 20 from D1990 and TCHF 34 from D2000).
On July 24, the first coordination call between the three district governors and Hanspeter Pfister, President of RSS (Foundation of the Rotary Districts Switzerland-Liechtenstein, Zone 16-B) discussed the next steps and coordination.
The individual applications for financial support for projects are coordinated locally by responsible Rotarians. These local coordinators are Manuel Rigozzi (RC Locarno) and Daniele Zoppi (RC Lugano) for the 1980 district, François Bernard (RC Martigny) for the 1990 district and Thomas Kollegger (RC Thusis) for the 2000 district.
The coordinators collect and coordinate the projects on site and are also responsible for contact with the local authorities. They submit the application for financial support together with a description, photos and the financial requirements.
Once the projects have been implemented, these coordinators will also record the success of the projects on site with pictures and a brief report on the impact achieved by the Rotary donations.
From now on, these coordination calls will be held every two weeks together with the RSS Foundation, the district governors and the coordinators. We will also provide regular updates on donations and projects.
In principle, the donations will be distributed to the projects in the districts according to the donations received from the districts. However, attention is also paid to impact and urgency.
We are all very proud of the very uncomplicated support from the donors, the clubs, the coordinators and the RSS Foundation and are convinced that Rotary can make a very direct impact on the ground in an uncomplicated way through this campaign.
